Level 3 (B): WriteRhythm WITH Set of PRINTED BOOKS

This is the 3rd in a series of curriculum levels.  A student starts the Level 3 (B): WriteRhythm after finishing the WriteStart level.

Students at this level already have the MerrieNan Melodies Kit with all of the support materials. Since the kit materials are easily shared, there is only one needed per family!

WriteRhythm is an exciting level as rhythm is now included!  Rhythm is a crucial component of music.  Having built the foundation of note reading, your student is now ready to move ahead by adding rhythm. MerrieNan Melodies purposefully waits to introduce new concepts until the prior ones are secure. With the new concepts, we continue with a step-by-step approach to ensure success.

Basic Curriculum Explanations:

When you adopted the MerrieNan Melodies music curriculum, you received the complete MerrieNan Melodies Kit with all of the support materials necessary to follow through with this innovative curriculum.  The kit materials are easily sharedl with family members. The MNM Kit is included at the two beginner levels, or in the sets.

As with the prior levels, there is an electronic Training Manual for this level that allows you, as the parent-teacher, to tailor each lesson to your child.  We have broken up this training into individual lesson-scripts where we walk you through all of the steps to address the particular concept included in that lesson. We have a purpose in our format; the reason we offer this training in a lesson-script format is so you may tailor the lessons to your child. With a script versus a video, you have the option of modifying the verbiage and pacing of the lesson.  Do all of the lesson or do a fifth of the lesson!  It’s up to you and your child to decide what works for the two of you. The lesson-scripts are available in an electronic format so you can download them, print them, and make notes during your lessons.

Each level of the program has three core books: a Musician’s Book which addresses music theory in a fun and accessible way, a Composer’s Book where your young musician is guided to compose music to play, enjoy, and reinforce learning of the music notation system, and at least one Songbook with songs to play.   The number of books varies from level to level depending on the content covered by a particular level.

Printable Books

All books with the word “printable” may be printed by you.  Should you want printed books, we can supply you with those for an additional cost.  See below*.

The two workbooks for each level consist of the consumable pages from both the Musician’s Book and the Composer’s Book.  The printable workbooks are what make these materials family-friendly! With the workbooks, you may use any level with as many of your children as you wish.  Just print off the pages from the workbooks that your child or children need to use.  You have permission to print any and all pages from the “printable” books you have purchased.

*Optional Printed Books

Some parents prefer to have pre-printed curriculum materials for their children to use.  We can supply those printed materials for an additional cost of $97 per level.  All books are printed in full color on quality paper with a spiral binding for ease of use.

WriteRhythm Eight Finger Book The Eight Finger Book is what is says:  a book for playing with eight fingers.  This is done on eight notes, or a scale.  Major and minor scales are clearly illustrated.
