This is the 2nd in a series of curriculum levels. A student who started with and completed  Level 1 (Pre-A): EarlyStart and needs the next level would order on this page.

Basic Curriculum Explanations:

When you adopted the MerrieNan Melodies music curriculum, you received the complete MNM Kit with all of the support materials necessary to follow through with this innovative curriculum.  And it’s one kit per family! The kit materials are easily shared.

Also included is the electronic Training Manual for that level that allows you, as the parent-teacher, to tailor each lesson to your child.  We have broken up this training into individual lesson-scripts where we walk you through all of the steps to address the particular concept included in that lesson. We have a purpose in our format; the reason we offer this training in a lesson-script format is so you may tailor the lessons to your child. With a script versus a video, you have the option of modifying the verbiage and pacing of the lesson.  Do all of the lesson or do a fifth of the lesson!  It’s up to you and your child to decide what works for the two of you. The lesson-scripts are available in an electronic format so you can download them, print them, and make notes during your lessons.

Each level of the program has three core books: a Musician’s Book which addresses music theory in a fun and accessible way, a Composer’s Book where your young musician is guided to compose music to play, enjoy, and reinforce learning of the music notation system, and at least one Songbook with songs to play.  The number of books varies from level to level depending on the content covered by a particular level.

Printable Books

All books with the word “printable” may be printed by you.  Should you want printed books, we can supply you with those for an additional cost.  See below*.

The two workbooks for each level consist of the consumable pages from both the Musician’s Book and the Composer’s Book.  The printable workbooks are what make these materials family-friendly! With the workbooks, you may use any level with as many of your children as you wish  Just print off the pages from the workbooks that your child or children need to use.  You have permission to print any and all pages from the “printable” books you have purchases.

Optional Printed Books

Some parents prefer to have pre-printed curriculum materials for their children to use.  We can supply those printed materials for an additional cost of $97 per level.  All books are printed in full color on quality paper with a spiral binding for ease of use.

WriteStart Five Finger Songbook:  The WriteStart Five Finger Songbook teaches the beginner the basic five-finger scales, or tetrachords. This book is not sold separately.
